Our origins
Bahani Tea Estate was established in 1939 by the Phukan family under Bahani Tea Company Pvt. Ltd. Located in the Jorhat district of Assam, the estate lies in the fertile plains nourished by the Bahani River, a tributary of the Brahmaputra.
Spread across nearly 1,000 hectares, the estate benefits from rich soil, pure water, cool summers, and warm winters — conditions that define the distinctive strength and character of Assam tea.
For decades, Bahani supplied teas primarily through the traditional auction system. Today, we continue that legacy while also bringing our teas directly to consumers — connecting you more closely to the estate where they are grown.
Single estate,
premium experience
Every leaf bearing the Bahani name is cultivated and processed within our own estate. We do not source from multiple gardens or rely on anonymous blends.
Tea is harvested during key seasonal flushes, particularly spring and autumn. The freshly plucked leaves are processed in our on-site factory, ensuring what we proudly call factory-fresh tea.
